Juneau police are investigating the death of a 64-year-old Juneau man who was seen "going over the side of the Juneau Douglas Bridge."

According to JPD, a report was received just after 2:30 p.m. Tuesday of a man standing on the outside railing. The caller then told JPD that they could no longer see the man, and stopped to check on him.

The caller reported that the man was on the ground below approximately 100 feet below the bridge near the tide line.

Witnesses performed CPR on the man as JPD, Capitol City Fire & Rescue, and the U.S. Coast Guard responded. The man, who was identified as Brian Earl Lupro, was later pronounced dead.

His family has been notified.
