'Libertarian brand of conservatism' driving Mat-Su lawmakers in Juneau

Over the last several decades, the population of the Matanuska-Susitna borough has grown dramatically. About 30 years ago, fewer than one in 22 Alaskans lived in the Mat-Su Borough. As of 2017, that number has dramatically grown, with about one in seven now residing in the valley.
With these drastically growing population numbers, a rise in political power from residents has become apparent.
KTOO news director, Jeremy Hsieh, talked with us about how this has played in to a rise of a particular brand of Conservatism, and brings up examples he has noticed over the last several years.
