Serial sex offender in Alaska and Florida sentenced to 43 years
A 37-year old man is going to prison for 43 years for extorting and threatening minor victims he contacted online to produce child pornography of themselves in Alaska and Florida.
According to a release from the U.S. District Attorney, evidence against William Patrick King first surfaced in May of 2017, when a 15-year-old victim notified the Anchorage Police Department School Resource Officer that she was being harassed and extorted by King.
Investigation showed that King had contacted the minor through social media and "attempted to extort and threaten the victim to self-produce images and videos depicting child pornography."
The release says that King photoshopped images in an attempt to blackmail the victim into self-producing child pornography photos and videos, and made a variety of phony online personas to persuade the victim to refrain from reporting his conduct to law enforcement.
William Patrick King was sentenced to 35 years in prison in Alaska and another 35 years in Florida, with eight years to run consecutive. After 43 years, he will face a lifetime of supervised release.
