Boise State, The College of Western Idaho, and the Idaho State Correctional Institution all confirmed Wednesday that James Williams taught in their programs.

Williams, 66, was arrested Friday on three felony charges of sexual abuse of a minor and two felony charges of lewd conduct with a child.

Boise police detectives said Williams had sexual contact with a girl under age 16 within the last few months.

A Boise State spokesperson tells KTVB that Williams taught as an adjunct instructor at Boise State since 2013, but is no longer teaching at the university.

A College of Western Idaho spokesperson confirms that Williams worked in CWI’s basic skills education program until 2016.

Williams also worked as an instruction assistant for the Idaho Department of Correction since 2012. An IDOC spokesperson says Williams has been placed on leave without pay.

Boise State tells KTVB they are attempting to reach out to all students who have taken a course from Williams to explain the resources that are available to students and other members of the campus community.

Boise police are concerned Williams may have additional victims. Anyone with information is urged to call dispatch at 208-377-6790 or Crime Stoppers at 208-343-COPS (2677).
