Fire destroys trailer in south Billings

BILLINGS — UPDATE 9:17 P.M. - A Monday night release from the Billings Fire Department stated the fire at 1926 Mullowney Lane #50 was caused accidentally.

The release states, "fire was the result of a gas leak behind the gas stove."

The fire damaged an estimated $90,000 worth of property.

Billings Fire Battallion Chief Ed Regele said Monday night the trailer-home was fully engulfed in flames upon firefighters arrival. He said crews got the blaze knocked down quick and was contained to the one home.

Regele said four engines, one truck company and one water tender responded.

A fire destroyed a trailer in south Billings Monday evening, and all occupants escaped without injury.

Billings firefighters responded to the call about 5:40 p.m. on the 1900 block of Mullowney Lane.

Heavy white smoke poured out of the residence.

The cause and damage totals have not been released.
