BILLINGS — It is another beautiful day in Billings, but take a look at the snow up in the mountains. A lot has melted, but there's still quite a bit of snow up there to melt and cause more flooding.

At 1 p.m., the temperature was 75 degrees in Billings and is forecast is to get into the 80s before the day is done.

Around the rest of the state, our temps were mostly into the 60s and 70s across Montana and northern Wyoming. However, it was 80 degrees at Sheridan.

The thunderstorm outlook for Wednesday shows a marginal risk of severe storms across all of southern Montana and north-central Wyoming. It does include the city of Billings and Sheridan.

On Thursday, the marginal risk of severe storms slides little farther to the east and only covers the southeast corner of Montana and northeastern Wyoming.

The melting snow continues to pour copious amounts of water into the area’s rivers, streams and creeks.

Because of that, the National Weather Service has issued a flood warning for the Yellowstone River at Livingston and Billings as well as the Clark Fork of the Yellowstone at Edgar and Belfry.

By now, the Doppler radar shows y a line of showers streaming out of eastern Idaho into western Wyoming and parts of southwestern Montana.

The high-resolution forecast model shows those showers will continue to track along the state line with Wyoming throughout the rest of Wednesday and most of Thursday, leaving Billings with only a minimal chance of showers and thunderstorms Wednesday evening.

Our temps will get into the 80s Wednesday afternoon and roll back down to the 50s by the morning and back up to 74 degrees about 2 p.m. Thursday.

Our temps will top out at 78 degrees on Thursday, into the mid-80s on Friday and Saturday and will roll it back down to the 60s, beginning the early part of next week.
