BILLINGS — It's another typical summer day in Billings. The temperatures are beginning to soar into the upper 80s and probably on their way to the 90s, with a breezy northeast wind at 15 mph.

Around the rest of the state, our temps are mostly into the 70s and 80s and a few 90s out in the far west. Sheridan was at 93.

We still have a Heat Advisory for northwest Montana where the temperatures there Friday can get into the 90 to 100 degree range.

In eastern Montana, it's a line of showers and thunderstorms moving through Dawson County into Fallon County.

This moisture is producing pretty hefty thunderstorms in east-central Montana that started to explode once they traveled into the denser moisture field in North Dakota.

The high-resolution forecast model shows Billings will enjoy mostly sunny skies for the rest of the afternoon and clear skies throughout the night.

On Saturday, we will start off with mostly sunny skies. But then, later in the afternoon, we will see some showers come over the mountains and an easterly hot wind will dry up these thunderstorms before they make it to Billings.

This means Sunday will be mostly sunny and dry as well. Friday night, we will cool back down to the 50s and 60s across south-central and eastern Montana with generally dry conditions.

On Saturday, we get back up into the 80s and low 90s with showers and thunderstorms across the state line with Wyoming.

At 5:30 p.m., it will be 93 degrees, then we will cool back down to the 60s in the morning and back to the upper 80s Saturday afternoon.

We will top out at 90 on Saturday, 95 on Monday then back to the 80s on Tuesday and Wednesday and 92 degrees on Thursday.
