Ross Reynolds reviews the week's news, live from the Capitol Theater in Olympia!

With Rachel La Corte, Associated Press reporter, Knute Berger, editor-at-large at Crosscut, and Angela King, KUOW's Morning Edition host.

The third Democratic presidential debate was held Tuesday, with 12 candidates gracing the stage. Who held their own? And what was missing? (Gov. Jay Inslee has an idea...)

But for this year's election, Washington state residents have two initiatives on the ballot.

One would lower car tab fees to $30, supported by Tim Eyman. The other would return affirmative action to Washington state.

In Seattle, Amazon announced it's dropping another million dollars into the city council race. What does this mean for the election? Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders called out Amazon this week as a symbol of corporate misbehavior, referring to the head tax.

And Soundgarden and Dave Matthews Band have been nominated for the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. Two very different bands, although both from Seattle, with two very different fan bases. (Are we ashamed to like Dave Matthews?)

Plus: The Mariners are officially the biggest losers. We're the only professional baseball team to never make it to the World Series. How do you keep the hope alive?

Finally, because we're in Olympia, we have to talk about some of our favorite, local urban legends, including the haunting at the Capitol Theater...
