Two armed robbery suspects arrested after several robberies

WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) - The Wichita Police department has arrested two suspects stemming from several armed robbery investigations.

Antonio D. Martin, 26, was arrested on five counts of aggravated robbery, aggravated assault, and outstanding warrants. Carmen Burns, 28, was arrested on two counts of aggravated robbery, stemming from several armed robbery investigations.

At approximately 8:50 p.m. Thursday, officers responded to an armed robbery call at Jumpstart at 3805 West 21st Street North.

Upon arrival, officers contacted a store employee who reported two suspects entering the store demanding cash while one suspect was armed with a rifle.

Cash was taken, and the suspects fled the store on foot. No one was hurt.

Through the investigation, investigators learned Martin was involved in four additional armed robberies that began in July and that Burns was involved in a second armed robbery as well. Additionally, two long guns were recovered and found to be BB guns.

The investigations are ongoing.

July 26 - Two people robbed a Jumpstart in the 1500 block of East Pawnee Saturday night.

According to Wichita Police, the robbery occurred around 11:30 p.m. when two suspects came in and demanded money. One of the suspects had a “long gun.”

After money was handed over to the suspects, they left the area on foot.
