WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) - A crash involving a motorcycle southwest of Wichita leaves one person dead. It happened along K-42 between Tyler and Ridge Road.

Sedgwick County Sheriff’s Deputies tell us, when they got to the scene at around 9:30 Sunday evening, they found a motorcyclist with life-threatening injuries and the driver of a pickup pinned inside the vehicle.

The motorcyclist died. The driver of the pickup was treated at the scene.

Officials say the motorcyclist was part of a group riding along K-42.

“Our initial investigation has shown that there was a group of motorcyclists on K-42 Highway, and one of those motorcyclists collided with another vehicle in the eastbound traffic lane,” said Sgt Matthew Lynch of the Sedgwick County Sheriff’s Dept.

Officials have not released the name of the person who died.
