Police identify woman killed in south Wichita crash

Wichita police identify a woman killed in a crash on Monday as 19-year-old Carleena Johnson.

Police say Johnson was in an SUV that rolled near 53rd and Broadway. Her vehicle was one of three involved in the crash.

Police haven't said what caused the crash.

A woman is dead following a crash in south Wichita Tuesday evening.

Wichita police responded to the crash shortly before 6:30 p.m. near 53rd and Broadway.

Officers arrived to find three vehicles involved. One had rolled. Police say the woman in the rolled SUV was taken to the hospital in very critical condition but died from her injuries.

Police say each of the three vehicles were driving in a different direction when the crash occurred. They would not specify in which direction the woman was driving her SUV.

Police were working to notify her next of kin.

The area near 55th and Broadway will remain closed while the critical accident team works to reconstruct the deadly crash and clear the scene.
