Police identify man killed in south Wichita motorcycle crash

Wichita police have identified the man killed in a motorcycle crash Thursday afternoon as 34-year-old Shane Scranton.

Police say the crash happened around 4:50 p.m. in the 5300 block of S. Seneca, a pickup turned in front of Scanton's 2009 Kawasaki.

He died on the scene. The 71-year-old driver of the truck was not hurt.

Police say Scranton's death marks Wichita's 27th traffic fatality of 2018.

The case will be presented to the Sedgwick County District Attorney's Office.

One person is dead after a two-vehicle crash involving a truck and a motorcycle late Thursday afternoon in south Wichita.

Sedgwick County dispatch tells us the crash happened a little before 5 p.m. in the 5300 block of South Seneca, but could not disclose further information as to what led up to the crash or who died after the collision.

We do know that no one else was injured in the crash.
