Kansas drivers should expect to see an increase in gas prices this fall, according to AAA.

The travel agency says despite falling or flat gas prices in most states across the country, Kansas saw a jump over the past week.

The average cost of a gallon of regular gas in Kansas rose four cents this week to $2.70, according to AAA.

The travel agency says the overall increase in gas prices can be attributed to the maintenance at half a dozen refineries in the region.

AAA monitors 10 gas prices in 10 Kansas cities. Of those ten, seven saw an increase with a high of $3.01 in the town of Kensington (Smith County) to a low of $2.56 in Newton (Harvey County)
