The Cheyenne County Sheriff's Office says it's investigating the report of a man posing as a deputy to extort cash from a driver.

With the crime Tuesday, the sheriff's office says the caller reported being pulled over by a man identifying himself as a Cheyenne County Sheriff's deputy.

On that stop, the man claiming to be a deputy extorted cash from the driver, the report to the sheriff's office says.

The sheriff's office says the man, described as being in his early to mid 20s, was driving a late-model, unmarked black Dodge pickup with emergency lights in the front grill and the front windshield.

Anyone who may see this vehicle should call 911 or the Cheyenne County Sheriff's Office at 785-332-8880.
