Fire crews fight blaze to NE Wichita building

Wichita Fire investigators said a Friday night fire was caused by a malfunction with a dust collecting system.

The Wichita Fire Department responded to a fire at Belite Enterprises LLC in the 3400 block of North Comotara Street between K-96 and 37th Street North.

Officials said the fire has been ruled accidental. No one was hurt.

Fire investigators said the fire caused around $150,000 worth of damage.

Crews with the Wichita Fire Department Friday night fought to contain a blaze to a single-story building in northeast Wichita.

The Wichita Fire Department says a second alarm was called to the scene in the 3400 block of North Comotara Street. This is in an area near Rock Road between K-96 and 37th Street North.

Sedgwick County dispatch says when crews arrived a little before 11 p.m., they encountered flames and smoke. By about 11:30 p.m., crews had the fire under control.

No one was hurt.

Authorities are investigating what caused the fire.
