A former teacher in the Wichita school district died in a southeast Kansas crash early Thursday morning.
The Kansas Highway Patrol says 48-year-old Adam Bancroft, of Fort Scott, died in the two-vehicle crash that happened about 5:30 a.m. on U-54, just east of Fort Scott in Bourbon County.
Records show Bancroft was a teacher at Stucky. Most recently, he was listed in the staff directory at Paola Middle School.
The KHP says a 2004 Mercury Sable, driven by a 29-year-old Missouri man was westbound on U-54 and as it went to pass, collided head-on with Bancroft's Chevrolet Malibu, traveling east on the highway.
The Missouri man also died in the crash, the KHP says. There were no passengers in either vehicle.
