There are still a lot of questions surrounding parking at the new minor league baseball stadium in downtown Wichita.

The Wichita Transit Advisory Board oversees both transit and parking in the city. They say a lot of people had questions about what parking might look like at the new stadium.

Jeff Wolfe is the president of the Car Park. His business runs parking locations throughout the country and here in Wichita.

He says stadiums the size of Wichita's new ballpark require 3,400 to 3,500 parking spaces and he says there are 5,000 spaces within 1,600 feet of it. That's also the maximum walking distance he recommends the city plan on for fans.

He also presented a plan to use existing parking garages located near Douglas and Topeka for parking. He said the city could use shuttles to get those fans to the stadium.

"I've seen that shuttle rides can be very effective and again it's, think about a family with two kids and a stroller. It's a great option to be able to take a shuttle bus door to door and come back to your car at the end of the event," said Wolfe.

Nothing was decided at Wednesday's meeting. Members of the transit advisory said they wanted to get a better picture of what parking could look like for the new stadium.
