Meteorologist Sarah Fletcher says snow is on the way to the Sunflower State over the next few days.

Tonight, snow will be possible in western Kansas around midnight. These snow showers will move to the east, staying in western Kansas to start the day on Monday. Snow will taper off in the early afternoon, shortly after lunchtime. With this first chance for snow, accumulation should stay under 1.5".

Lows will drop into the teens for most of the state overnight, with the exception of northwestern Kansas, where lows will stay in single digits.

Monday, highs will reach the upper teens in the northwest and the 20s for the rest of us. It will be cold and cloudy for those of us who don't get snow on Monday morning.

The rest of the state will get a chance for snow on Tuesday. Snow showers will once again move into western Kansas late Monday night, around midnight. The snow will move to the east, covering all of western Kansas into the morning, getting into central Kansas around lunchtime, and covering the entire state by 6 p.m. Those snow showers will move to the northeast overnight, ending for our area by early Wednesday morning (before your morning commute).

Snow totals on Tuesday could reach a few inches across the state.

Highs will stay in the 20s and 30s on Tuesday, but we'll warm into the 40s by Thursday.

More winter weather is expected by the end of the week.
