Some buildings were evacuated Monday as authorities investigated a suspicious 18-wheeler outside of the Earle Cabell Federal Building in Dallas where a gunman opened fire last week.

After about an hour, authorities gave the all-clear after determining that the 18-wheeler, which was parked in a no parking zone, and in which police saw some “suspicious” wiring, posed no threat.

The rig was towed and impounded.

As a precaution, police evacuated buildings in a three-block area while the truck was checked.

Several streets around the federal building including eastbound Commerce Street to Akard Street; and both directions on Jackson Street from Austin to Akard were also to traffic closed while police checked out the semi.

Last Monday Brian Isaack Clyde, 22, was shot and killed by security officers after he opened fire at the Earle Cabell Federal Building.

There were no other serious injuries or deaths in the attack.
