Germarquis Robinson, 8, of Lacy Lakeview has helped lead his AAU 4X100 Dragons Youth track and field team to a gold medal and national championship at the Junior Olympics in Greensboro, N.C.

The competition drew teams from all over the United States in the 8 and under division.

Running the third leg of the relay, Robinson helped stretch a lead that gave his team to a time of 56:31 and a place on the top of the awards podium.

Robinson, who trained in his original hometown of Marlin before moving recently to Lacy Lakeview, will attend school in the Connally ISD this year.
