AUSTIN (KXAN) — A man was arrested Thursday for allegedly robbing and assaulting several victims at a game room in north Austin, according to the Austin Police Department.

Austin police responded to a call of a robbery at AAA Limousine at 11902 North Interstate Highway 35. The call described multiple suspects armed with guns robbing victims in a game room at the location.

According to the affidavit, there were approximately eight people in the game room at the time the suspects arrived. The suspects then allegedly forced the manager to open the gaming machines, taking out the money inside.

The victims told investigators that during the robbery, they were ordered to empty their pockets and had their phones and money stolen. The affidavit reports that some victims were physically assaulted in the process.

Officers arrived on the scene as the suspects were leaving the game room, and they were then taken into custody. One of the suspects, Joshua Anthony Mercado, 25, was arrested for robbery by assault.
