Gresham, Oregon – Gresham Police are looking for a “suspicious” person who they say tried to lure an 11-year-old girl into his truck. Just after 6pm last night the girl was walking her dog along Northeast 162nd Avenue near Hoyt Street, when the guy pulled up alongside her, offering treats to the girl and her dog if they would get inside the truck. The child ran home and alerted her family. The driver is described as a clean-shaven white guy in his 60’s, with light-colored straight shoulder-length hair. He had a BLACK EYE-PATCH over his left eye. He was driving a dirty blue four-door Dodge pickup truck with a blue canopy.

Gresham, Ore.— At approximately 6:15 p.m. an 11-year-old female was walking her dog on the westside of NE 162nd AVE near NE Hoyt ST. At this time, a dirty blue, 4 door Dodge pick-up truck with a blue canopy, drove along side of her. The driver offered the female “treats” for her and her dog if she would get inside of the truck. The vigilant juvenile declined the subject’s offer, ran back to her home and alerted family members who called police.

The subject was described as a white male, 60 – 70 years of age, with light colored straight shoulder length hair. He was clean shaven and had a black eye patch over his left eye. The subject was wearing a black and grey flannel shirt. The subject left the area in an unknown direction of travel.

This is a good reminder for parents to talk to their children about what to do when confronted with this type of situation.

 Gresham Police are investigating the report of an attempted abduction of an 11-year-old girl in the area of NE 194th Ave and NE Davis St in Gresham.

On June 7th at about 6:48 a.m. a 911 call was initiated after an 11-year-old reported being approached by an older white male in a red compact sedan. The suspect was further described as having blond hair with a beard and an unknown facial tattoo.

Gresham Police is attempting to identify the suspect and releasing this information for the public’s safety and awareness.
