The Blizzard achieved a record of 17-3-3 this season.

One interesting note about the defending state champs is that they are lead by an eighth grader in scoring, Madison Brown. She has 15 goals and 22 assists, good enough for fifth best in the state points scored. Brown said she is nervous to be on the big state, but that her teammates will help her out.

“I think going in as the No. 2 seed will make us grind harder,” Brown said, “so that we have the feeling that we need to beat the No. 1 seed. Usually, the Bismarck Blizzard go in as the No. 1 seed so they are always like, ‘Oh, we can we win.’ Since we are going in as the No. 2 seed we are going to have gut [feeling] that we need to win.”

The Bismarck Blizzard take on the Minot tomorrow at 5 p.m. in Fargo.
