Downed power line leads to power outages near Campbell and James River Freeway in Springfield

Springfield City Utilities restored power to a busy intersection Tuesday.

A downed power line led to outages along Campbell Avenue near James River Freeway. City Utilities reported about 2,500 customers without power at the peak of the outage.

Police directed traffic along Campbell Avenue during the outage. The incident impacted power to businesses and Kickapoo High School.
