Hundreds of shoppers and residents were left in the dark after a power outage in south Springfield on Friday night.
According to City Utilities, a tree limb that was saturated with rainwater landed on a power line, which sparked the outage. The outage left hundreds of homes without power, along with the Primrose Marketplace shopping center and several other businesses.
City Utilities spokesperson Joel Alexander told KY3 News that power was restored to the area shortly before 7 p.m.
