Police investigate shooting in downtown Springfield

Police say a man is recovering from a gunshot wound to the leg after a shooting in downtown Springfield.

Officers responded to the parking lot on South Patton Avenue. Police heard the shot fired. By the time they arrived, the victim had already been taken to the hospital.

Officers say the victim told them he was shot in the leg by another man. Police have not released a description of the suspect.
