LANSING — Two Lansing men have been arrested in connection with a Friday afternoon armed robbery.

Laquandell George-Keyvont Thurman, 20, of Lansing, was charged with multiple weapon violations and counts of armed robbery and possessing a controlled substance.

Quincy Adam Brown, 30, of Lansing, was charged with armed robbery and possessing a controlled substance.

Both men were arraigned Saturday in 54-A District court, according to the news release from the Lansing Police Department.

Shortly after 2 p.m. Friday, dispatchers sent police to a business in the 500 block of East Cesar Chavez Avenue for reports of an armed robbery, the release said.

According to police, a man went into the business, showed an employee his handgun and demanded money. The man took money and left, the release said, though police determined that two men were involved.

Officers found two men matching the description of the robbers walking a few blocks away from the business, determined they were the robbery suspects, arrested both and took them to the Lansing Police Department Detention facility.

Bond was denied for Thurman, and Brown was given a $100,000 cash or surety bond. Both men are expected to appear in court again in early March.
