Woman killed in fatal stabbing in Lansing Township, man arrested

LANSING TWP. — A 55-year-old woman is dead after being stabbed in the neck just after midnight on Wednesday, police said. 

Lansing Township Police have a 42-year-old man in custody in connection with her death, according to a news release. They believe the woman's death was a homicide. 

The stabbing took place between midnight and 12:30 a.m. in the 200 block of S. Homer Street in Lansing Township, where the woman lived, according to the news release. 

The man and woman were acquaintances, and did not live together, Lansing Township Police Chief Adam Kline said. 

The investigation is still ongoing. Police did not release the name of the victim or the suspect, who had not been charged as of mid-day Wednesday.
