Police: 18-year-old Lansing man dies after accidental shooting

LANSING — An 18-year-old Lansing man died after accidentally shooting himself on Lansing's east side Sunday, police said. 

The man, whose name police did not release, was taken off life support Tuesday evening, Lansing Public Information Director Robert Merritt said. 

Police were called to the area of Leslie and Walsh streets at about 10:30 p.m. for the shooting, which they believe was accidental, Merritt said. 

The 18-year-old was taken to the hospital in critical condition Sunday night.
