Police release name of Jackson man killed in Lansing shooting that wounded 4 others

Police were on the scene Sunday morning after an overnight shooting on Miller Road in south Lansing.

LANSING — Police said Monday two of the four people hospitalized after a shooting on Sunday that left one person dead and four others wounded have been released from a local hospital.

Tayveon Donell Williams, 22, of Jackson was killed in the shooting that occurred on the city's south side.  

A 29-year-old woman and a 21-year-old man, both from Lansing, have been released from a local hospital. A Jackson man, 22, remains in serious but stable condition and a woman, 18, of Lansing is listed in stable condition.

Officers were called at about 1:30 a.m. Sunday to the area of West Miller Road and Balfour Drive on a report of a large party and shots fired, Lansing police said in a news release. 

Five people were found inside and outside of a home with gunshot wounds. 

Numerous people left the scene and were not identified or interviewed.
