LANSING – Greater Lansing can expect peeking sunshine late Sunday as the last bits of a winter storm leave the region.

A few last-minute flurries will pass through Sunday afternoon and sunshine could come through as the day winds down, said the National Weather Service in Grand Rapids.

"Things will improve pretty rapidly this afternoon," said Bob Dukesherer, a weather service senior forecaster.

Ingham, Eaton and Clinton counties saw anywhere from 5 to 10 inches of snowfall during the course of storm, Dukesherer said. Little new snow accumulation is expected Sunday afternoon.

"This is really winding down," Dukesherer said.

Roads will remain icy as temperatures dip into low teens or single digits Sunday night, Dukesherer said. Low temperatures will linger through Wednesday.

Temperatures will "pop back" later this week, potentially reaching the upper 30s or low 40s by Friday, Dukesherer said.
