LANSING — A 29-year-old man was shot in the back early Sunday while inside a Lansing house, police said.

The man and several others were inside a house in the 200 block of Rumsey Avenue just after midnight Sunday when they heard gunshots coming from outside, Lansing Police Public Information Director Robert Merritt said.

A bullet came into the house, striking the 29-year-old in the back, Merritt said. He was in critical condition Wednesday, Merritt said.

Police do not know if the gunshot came from someone on foot or in a vehicle, Merritt said. Other items outside the house were struck and damaged by gunfire.

A K-9 track to locate a suspect was unsuccessful, Merritt said.

Anyone with information about this shooting can call the Lansing Police Department at 517-483-4600 or Detective Sgt. Shawn McNamara: 517-483-6840.
