LANSING — Police are searching for a man suspected of shooting a woman in both legs Thursday evening, leaving her hospitalized with non-fatal injuries.

Officers responded to the shooting on the 1300 block of East Kalamazoo Street just before 5:45 p.m..

Based on a preliminary investigation, police believe the woman, 33, was visiting a friend's apartment when an argument began.

It appears the suspect fired a gun before he left the apartment and that shots struck the woman, said Robert Merritt, public information officer for the Lansing Police Department.
