Large fight injures 2 in Lansing

LANSING - A large fight resulted in injuries to two people Tuesday night in Lansing, police said.

The incident was reported around 9:45 p.m. in the 1000 block of East Cesar Chavez Avenue.

Lansing police responded to the scene at which point everyone involved left the area, Robert Merritt, Lansing Police Department public information director, wrote in an email.

Officers located two people at the scene who were injured; one had a minor stab wound and the other had an injury to his head, Merritt wrote.

They were both transported to a local hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening.

"Officers eventually learned the victims went to the E. Cesar Chavez to fight another subject (suspect)," Merritt said.

During the fight, the suspect cut one of the men while the other was hit in the head with an object, Merritt said.

No arrests have been made as of Wednesday morning.
