LANSING - A 6-year-old boy with autism was given a new fish, fish tank and supplies by two Lansing police officers and a local pet store.

Lansing police officer Jacob Kocan was selling a fish tank on social media when he received an inquiry from a woman who explained that her grandson, Keegan, nicknamed Bam Bam, had been saving up to buy a fish and a tank, the department said in a news release.

After hearing the story, Kocan and community police Officer Joseph Bacigal contacted Pruess Pets, which donated a betta fish, a tank and other supplies.

The officers delivered the supplies to Keegan who thanked them and attempted to pay them for his new pet and tank. The officers declined. Police didn't release Keegan's last name.

Keegan quickly set up the tank for his new fish, Brownie.
