EAST LANSING - Police said they don't know what caused the death of a 60-year-old East Lansing man whose body was found outdoors on Wednesday.

East Lansing Deputy Police Chief Steve Gonzalez confirmed the man was found dead in the area of Woodingham Drive, east of Coolidge Road, on Wednesday afternoon.

The man's name was being withheld until relatives could be notified, Gonzalez said. It was not clear what time his body was discovered.

Police do not suspect foul play, and it was unclear if the death is weather-related, he said. An autopsy is needed to determine the cause of death, he said.

Life-threatening wind chill values were prevalent across the area Wednesday and were expected to continue into Thursday.
