MASON - Klavon's Pizzeria & Pub will host a three-day job fair this month at its third location taking shape on West Kipp Road.

The company is expected to fill more than 200 jobs at the new restaurant which is expected to open in late March or early April.

Walk-in job interviews will be held from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Feb. 21-23.

Klavon's Director of Operations Andrea LaFever said management positions at the new eatery have already been filled, but the company is still looking to hire people to fill part-time and full-time line cook, prep cook, dishwasher, server, host, busing, and bartender positions.

Klavon’s Pizzeria and Pub will be hosting a job fair Feb. 21 through Feb. 23 for the company's new Mason location.

Pay for those positions range from $9.50 to $13 an hour, LaFever said.

The company released a rendering of the 200-seat, 9,000-square-foot building last May, with an original projection of opening by last October.

LaFever said cold temperatures and icy precipitation hasn't slowed down work at the location. Rather interior work has been progressing when conditions hampered outdoor work, she said, but the company decided not to open during last year's busy holiday season.

"We really did not want to shoot for an opening during the holiday season because we were busy at our two existing stores," LaFever said.

The new restaurant's exact opening date has not been announced yet, but LaFever said the company will likely update customers via Klavon's social media pages when it's decided.

Klavon's current locations include a 9,500-square-foot restaurant in Vandercook Lake, just south of Jackson, and a 4,000-square-foot restaurant in Rives Junction, northwest of the city.

The restaurant's menu includes different types of pizza, including Neapolitan wood-fired, Detroit-style, Chicago-style and classic American, as well as salads, soups, sandwiches and burgers.

The company has secured a liquor license for the new location, and will offer a selection of wines and Michigan craft beers, along with "hand-crafted cocktails," LaFever said.

The Mason location will come with some "unique" design details, LaFever said, offering customers in the dining area a glimpse into how Klavon's food is prepared.

"I think the building is really centered around showcasing our processes," she said.

Those interested in attending the upcoming job fair should complete, print and bring in a copy of an online application located at klavons.com/careers .
