Police release name of teenager shot to death Sunday in Lansing

LANSING - Police have released the name of an 18-year-old man who was shot to death Sunday in Lansing.

Police have identified a man who was shot to death on Sunday as Adam Eckmyre Barnett, 18.

Adam Eckmyre Barnett died at a local hospital after the shooting in northeast Lansing, Lansing police said in a news release.

The incident happened shortly after 11 a.m. in the 100 block of West Fairfield Avenue.

Police have released no details about the incident, saying only that the shooting is being investigated as a suspicious death and was not a random act.
