Volunteers organize food donations on their way to the Greater Lansing Food Bank.

Dear readers,

I’m consistently amazed by how the Greater Lansing community cares for itself. Whether it’s helping families through tragedy, finding answers to chronic problems or providing basic needs for our neighbors, we always answer the call.

One way to answer that call is by donating to the Greater Lansing Food Bank. Your donation directly affects the lives of children, seniors and working families in our local communities.

The Lansing State Journal is proud to partner with GLFB to create a future where everyone has access to nourishing food. Every dollar donated helps provide three meals to our neighbors struggling with hunger. Thanks to GLFB’s partnerships and purchasing efficiencies, just $60 can feed a family of four for two weeks.

Last year, because of the generous support of friends and neighbors like you, the food bank provided nearly 7 million meals to children, seniors, families and individuals in our community. Yet the need remains. For our neighbors facing hunger this holiday season, continued support from the food bank is vital.

I invite you to join the Lansing State Journal in supporting Greater Lansing Food Bank this holiday season. You can donate online at greaterlansingfoodbank.org or look for a donation envelope enclosed in the paper in the weeks to come. We are committed to making a difference in our neighborhoods during the holiday season and beyond.

You can make a difference. Won’t you feed our neighbors?
