LANSING – Police were investigating a shooting on Lansing's near west side that put a 30-year-old man in the hospital Friday evening.

The incident happened shortly after 7 p.m. at a residence in the 1100 block of West Lenawee Street, Lansing police Sgt. Rick Thomas said. The victim suffered non-life-threatening injuries.

Lansing police were investigating a reported shooting Friday night on West Lenawee Street.

The shooting was not a random act, and there was no ongoing threat to the public, Thomas said.

A K-9 track was unsuccessful, and a suspect was still at large on Friday night, he said.

Numerous police vehicles were parked near the dead end of West Lenawee Street located just west of Martin Luther King Jr. Avenue about 7:30 p.m.

The front yard and driveway of a house on the south side of the street was marked off with yellow crime scene tape
