Two men shot, one fatally, at south Lansing strip mall Monday night

LANSING – One man was killed and another critically wounded Monday evening in a shooting incident on Lansing's south side.

The shooting happened about 6:35 p.m. in the parking lot of a strip mall in the 3400 block of Pleasant Grove Road, at Holmes Road.

One of the victims, a 31-year-old man, was pronounced dead, and the other, a 32-year-old man, was rushed to a hospital with life-threatening injuries, according to information released by police.

A K-9 search of the area was unsuccessful, Lansing police Sgt. Jeff Winarski said.

No other details about the incident were immediately available.

Numerous police vehicles were staged at the scene on Monday night, and a large section of the parking lot in front of the store fronts was marked off with yellow crime scene tape.
