LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — Scott Gragson, the grandson of former Las Vegas Mayor Oran K. Gragson, was arrested on May 30 for his involvement in a fatal crash on Granite Ridge Drive south of Grey Feather Drive, near Flamingo Road and Town Center Drive. 

Las Vegas police say at approximately 4:48 p.m., Gragson’s 2015 Range Rover SVR was traveling at a high rate of speed south on Granite Ridge Drive into a left curve south of Grey Feather Drive. They say he failed to maintain control of the vehicle in the curve leaving the roadway and striking multiple large trees causing the three unrestrained passengers in the rear seat to be ejected. 

The 36­ year ­old right rear passenger sustained fatal injuries at the scene. The 50­ year ­old left rear passenger and 46 ­year­ old middle rear passengers sustained serious injuries and were transported to UMC Trauma. 

Gragson and the 44 ­year old front passenger sustained minor injuries and were transported to UMC Trauma. 

Gragson is now facing charges of DUI resulting in death, two counts of DUI resulting in significant bodily harm, and three counts of reckless driving resulting in death or significant bodily harm.

This collision marks the 49th traffic­related fatality within the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department’s jurisdiction for 2019.
