Giraffe and Ed's Easy Diner restaurants will definitely close after plans were approved by creditors.

The decision means 27 of the 87 restaurants will close and hundreds of jobs are now at risk, including those at the Giraffe in Trinity Leeds.

Boparan Restaurant Group (BRG) own the chain and they are yet to announce which sites will close.

Giraffe has been a mainstay in Trinity since 2013 and is located on the upper floor of the shopping centre.

The closures were confirmed after the brands agreed to enter a company voluntary arrangement (CVA).

Will Wright, a restructuring partner at KPMG and joint supervisor of the CVA, said: "This is a critical step forward for the business, allowing Giraffe Concepts to complete its financial restructuring plan and embark on a comprehensive operational transformation programme."
