Milder temperatures are due to hit Leeds this weekend, matching those enjoyed in Milan and Madrid.

12C is expected during Saturday and Sunday, offering a whiff of Spring as snowdrops, crocuses and daffodils have started appearing across the city.

The temperatures match the likes of Madrid and Milan where it's also 12C this weekend, although it might feel slighter cooler than on the continent.

Nevertheless, it will remain dry in Leeds giving us all the chance to get outdoors and enjoy the first signs of spring.

Next week, the outlook is dry with a scattering of cloud, according to the Met Office.

Temperatures are expected to fall back slightly as a northerly flow makes a brief return to the UK.

On Monday, the warm weather will continue in Leeds with temperatures of 11C, before turning cooler to 9C on Tuesday with winds veering northwesterly and ‘feels-like’ values of just 5-7C, according to The Weather Channel.

Pressure should begin to build again on Tuesday and there is the risk of an early frost, but this should soon clear to leave another dry and bright day, with temperatures rising again to 10C on Wednesday.

Low pressure cells passing to the north will bring plenty of cloud with rain possible for some parts of northern Britain, but it looks like Leeds should escape this.

More settled and mild conditions should take charge for the remainder of the week and pressure should start to build again in the south resulting in milder weather returning but it could still be unsettled in parts of the north.

Let's hope there's no return to the wintry weather that gripped the country last month and that Spring has finally sprung in Leeds.
