Leeds United are eyeing a move for Bournemouth goalkeeper Mark Travers, according to the Irish Sun.

The 20-year-old made his Premier League debut for the Cherries in the final weeks of the season, starring in their 1-0 win over Tottenham in May.

The Irishman also played their league finale against Crystal Palace, once again catching the eye for Eddie Howe’s side. Although he has two years remaining on his current deal, his impressive performances look set to earn him a new bumper deal.

Howe has made no secret that he is hoping to shake up his goalkeeping options this summer, with former Stoke stopper Asmir Begovic expected to leave the club.

The Cherries are rumoured to be targeting England international Jack Butland as his replacement, and with Artur Boruc already signed up for another year, that could pave the way for Travers to move on loan.

After enjoying his first taste of senior football, it’s though that Travers is eager to discover his place in the pecking order, hoping to gain more first-team action.

Newly-promoted Norwich City are also rumoured to be vying for his signature as they seek competition for first-choice ‘keeper Tim Krul.

However, the Dutch international is expected to retain the number one jersey in the top flight, which could leave Bournemouth reluctant to send Travers to Carrow Road.

At Elland Road, there remains uncertainty as to who be between the sticks on August 3.  Kiko Casilla’s future remains unclear after a string of high-profile errors since signing from Real Madrid in January.

The Spaniard has been linked with a move back to his native country, following United’s promotion disappointment.  Despite starting last season as the club’s number one, Bailey Peacock-Farrell has also made it clear that he isn’t willing to play second fiddle next campaign, having been ousted by Casilla in January.

The Northern Irishman has entered the final year of his contract, and with the 22-year-old seeking assurances over his playing time, there are concerns he could quit the Whites.

That would force Marcelo Bielsa into the transfer market, should he have to replace either ‘keeper. Having signed Jamal Blackman on a temporary basis from Chelsea last summer, Leeds could be set to dip into the loan market to solve any potential crisis.
