Leeds United are yet to make an approach for Coventry City midfielder Tom Bayliss, according to the club’s chief executive Dave Boddy.

The Sky Blues’ academy graduate has been the subject of intense speculation, with a host of clubs, including the Whites, reportedly vying for his signature.

Aston Villa are the latest club to be linked with a move for the 20-year-old, alongside fellow Premier League outfit West Ham.

The Sun on Sunday has also claimed the two clubs will both vie for the highly-rated youngster, who has made 73 appearances for Mark Robins's side since breaking into the first team.

Merseyside giants Liverpool and Everton are also reported to have registered an interest, alongside Newcastle United and Middlesbrough.

Marcelo Bielsa has reportedly set his sights on the England Under-19 international, who is contracted to Coventry until 2022.

Sky Blues’ chief executive Boddy has broken the club’s silence on the speculation, although his comments have shed little light on whether we can expect to say Bayliss at Elland Road next season.

Speaking to our sister title, the Coventry Telegraph, he said: "We haven't had any inquiries or bids as yet but there’s been lots of speculation."

Although there has yet to be an approach, it is rumoured Byliss could command a fee as high as £3m.

Arch rivals Derby County had two bids rejected for the 20-year-old in January, although it’s unknown how much they offered for him.

With Premier League clubs looming, Robins’s side will do well to keep him at St Andrew’s next season.

Bayliss, who has scored nine goals during his time at Coventry, could be recruited to replace Kalvin Phillips, with Aston Villa readying a £14m bid for the Whites prized asset.

While there has been no bid as of yet, reports suggest the Leeds hierarchy are bracing themselves for an approach from Dean Smith's men.
