The total number of coronavirus cases is Leicestershire now stands at 1,845, according to the latest figures from Public Health England.

Nationwide, 32,692 people have passed away after testing positive for Covid-19.

There are now 226,463 lab-confirmed cases across the UK - representing an increase of 3,403 over 24 hours.

In Leicestershire, the number of cases has increased by 23 and now stands at 1,845.

Of those who have tested positive, 770 of them Leicester City Council area and the other 1,075 are in the Leicestershire County Council area.

This represents a rise of eight and 15 respectively over 24 hours.

The total of people who had tested positive for Covid-19 and have died at the city’s hospitals is now at 275.

Victims in Leicester have been aged between their 20s and 90s.

The UK is in its eighth week of lockdown as, around the globe, people are being ordered to stay away from anyone not from their household in order to reduce the transmission of the virus, which causes flu symptoms.
