An elderly mum's handbag that contained photos of her dead son has been stolen.

In her bag, the woman who is believed to be in her 80s, had a photo album of her son who was a serving solider in Afghanistan before he died.

The victim had her handbag attached to her walking frame when it was stolen in Loughborough on Thursday February, 21.

The theft happened at around 3.25pm. The bank card which was also in the bag was then used to withdraw cash at an ATM at around 3.45pm.

Charnwood Police now want to speak to three women as it is thought they will know more about the incident.

Detective Constable Ian Mundy said: "I’d like to speak to the three women pictured as I believe they may have information regarding this incident.

"If one of those people is you, then please get in touch.

"Likewise, I’d also like to speak to anyone who recognises any of the women."

Anyone who knows these women or has any information is urged to call 101.
