A high-value sports car which was stolen from the owner's home in Coalville this week has been found in Birmingham and a man arrested today.

The Nissan GT-R was taken from Kemp Road between Monday night and Tuesday morning.

Three masked men armed with knives burgled the house while the occupants - a man, his heavily-pregnant partner and their 14-month-old son - were asleep.

Adam Cutter told Leicestershirelive that his blood ran cold when he realised the burglars had stolen items from the bedroom in which he and his loved ones slept.

Mr Cutter said the thieves got away with his £60,000 car,and jewellery and cash to the value of up to £100,000.

Leicestershire Police officers travelled to Birmingham today to arrest a 24-year-old man. He has been taken into custody and is being questioned on suspicion of burglary.

The car was recovered by officers in the Aston area of Birmingham.

Detective Constable Michael Steer, the investigating officer, said: “While we’ve recovered the car and made an arrest, our investigation is still very much continuing.

“Therefore I would still like to speak to anyone who has seen the car being driven anywhere across the Midlands since it was reported as stolen.

“Any information you have – including dashcam or CCTV footage – could help my investigation.”
