A thug attacked a man in the street ordered him to hand over his watch and jewellery.

The victim, who is in his 20s, was attacked as he walked with his girlfriend in Coventry Road, Hinckley.

As they neared the junction with Northfield Road, a man ran toward him and pushed him against a fence and ordered him to hand over his possessions.

The robber ran away and got into the passenger seat of a silver car, thought to be a Renault Clio, which was driven away.

Leicestershire Police has appealed for witnesses to the attack, which happened at 5.15pm on Monday, April 8.

Detective Constable Kerry Willden said: “This happened on a busy road in the early evening.

"Please cast your mind back. Did you notice anything unusual? Did you see a car parked at the side of the road?

“If you have a dashcam in your vehicle, please check the footage to see if it has recorded anything that has not yet been overwritten.

"Any information you have could help with my investigation.”
